Academic Counseling
The student contact officer, class trainers, the training manager and the director are available to meet with students to discuss future career opportunities, class work and provide information and advice about further academic studies as well as other learning institutions/pathways.
Learning Support Unit
The Learning Support Unit provides additional academic assistance through individual, group or workshop sessions in areas such as Time & Self Management, Study Skills, Writing Skills, Assignments, Referencing, and Computer Skills as required. A ‘job board’ located in the computer room provides resources for students interested in gaining employment and is regularly updated with local job vacancies. Students can also access the internet to search and apply for jobs.
Welfare and Guidance Services
The Student Contact officers are the first point of contact for students seeking assistance or advice with any concerns that may arise during the course of their studies. The Student contact officers are available to consult with students from Monday – Friday between 9am -5pm.
The training manager, teaching staff and administrative staff at IHMI are also available to provide general advice and assistance with matter such as studying and issues regarding homework.
